Code of Ethics

What we stand for.

TaxWizardUSA exists for one reason: a tax return is a family's financial word to its government, and it deserves to be prepared as if it were our own. This Code binds every Member and Authorized Representative in the network β€” effective October 15, 2026.

Accuracy over speed
The client's interest first
Privacy without exception

Article I β€” Competence and Credentials

  1. Every preparer in the network holds a valid IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) and prepares only returns he or she is competent to prepare.
  2. Members and Representatives complete continuing education each year sufficient to stay current on the law for the returns they touch.
  3. No one in the network holds himself or herself out as a CPA, attorney, or enrolled agent unless he or she is one. Titles are earned, never borrowed.
  4. Work is reviewed before it is filed. The TaxWizardUSA review process is a standard, not a suggestion.

Article II β€” Accuracy and Due Diligence

  1. Returns are prepared from the client's source documents β€” never from memory, estimates presented as fact, or figures invented to reach a refund.
  2. We ask the questions the law requires. Due diligence for credits and filing statuses (including the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, education credits, and Head of Household status) is performed and documented on every return that claims them.
  3. We never knowingly take a position we cannot support, backdate a document, or sign a return we would not sign for our own family.
  4. When we find an error β€” ours or another preparer's β€” we tell the client, and we explain the path to correct it.

Article III β€” Honest Fees

  1. Fees are disclosed before work begins. A client is never surprised by the price of his own return.
  2. We do not charge fees based on a percentage of a refund for an original return, and we never promise a refund amount, a refund date, or "the largest refund" β€” outcomes belong to the law and the facts, not to marketing.
  3. Product and bank fees, if any, are explained in plain language before the client agrees to them.

Article IV β€” Client Data and Privacy

  1. Client information is used only to prepare and file the client's return, as the law permits and the client consents (Internal Revenue Code Β§7216). It is never sold, shared for marketing, or used for any other purpose.
  2. Every office in the network safeguards taxpayer data under a written information security plan, consistent with IRS Publication 4557 and the FTC Safeguards Rule: locked storage, encrypted exchange, unique credentials, and prompt reporting of any suspected breach to the network and to affected clients.
  3. Client records are retained and returned as the law requires, and a client's own documents are always the client's.

Article V β€” Honest Marketing

  1. Advertising tells the truth: services we actually provide, prices we actually charge, credentials we actually hold. No statement implies endorsement by the IRS or any government agency.
  2. No one in the network makes earnings claims about the partner program. What a Representative earns depends on the Representative's market and effort, and we say exactly that.
  3. Referral relationships are disclosed. A client referred to TaxWizardUSA is entitled to know that a referral relationship exists.

Article VI β€” The Client's Interest and Conflicts of Interest

  1. Where a conflict of interest exists, it is disclosed to the client in writing before work proceeds β€” or the engagement is declined.
  2. A client's confidential information is never used for the benefit of the preparer, another client, or any third party.
  3. We serve the client in front of us, whole and undivided β€” not the product, bank, or partner that pays us most.

Article VII β€” E-File and Practice Standards

  1. The network e-files under IRS Publication 1345 standards: verified identities, signed authorizations (Form 8879) before transmission, and no alteration of a return after signature without a new signature.
  2. We never sign a blank return, file without authorization, or cash, endorse, or divert a client's refund.
  3. We respond to IRS and state notices on returns we prepared, and we stand behind our work β€” including helping the client correct, amend, or answer for any return that carries our name.

Article VIII β€” Standards for Authorized Representatives

  1. Use only the network's approved branding, materials, and client documents. Represent the program β€” its prices, its commissions, and its support β€” exactly as published, never inflated.
  2. Maintain an office, physical or virtual, that meets the network's data-security and client-experience standards at all times.
  3. A Representative may not appoint, sell, or promise dealerships, sub-representative positions, or territories. Only TaxWizardUSA grants Representative status.
  4. A Representative's clients are TaxWizardUSA clients for standards and review: every return from a Representative's office passes the same review, the same diligence, and the same ethics as a return from the home office.
  5. A Representative who learns of an ethics violation in the network reports it. Silence in the face of a violation is itself a violation.

Article IX β€” Standards for Members (Referral Partners)

  1. Members represent TaxWizardUSA truthfully and only as a referral partner. A member does not prepare, sign, review, or hold himself or herself out as preparing returns under the network's name.
  2. Members pass the client relationship intact: accurate contact information, no promises made on the network's behalf about price, timing, or outcome.
  3. Commission terms are as published β€” paid after the client's payment clears β€” and are never supplemented by side fees charged to the referred client.

Article X β€” Enforcement

  1. This Code is a condition of membership and of Representative status. Joining the network, at any level, is acceptance of this Code.
  2. Violations are addressed in proportion: correction and retraining for a first lapse of diligence; suspension for a pattern; immediate termination for dishonesty, misuse of client data, or harm to a client.
  3. Suspected violations may be reported to partners@totalsourcenet.com. Reports are reviewed by the home office, and the reporter is protected from retaliation within the network.
  4. This Code sets the network's professional standard. It does not replace the law β€” including IRS Circular 230 and the Internal Revenue Code β€” which governs every preparer in the network independently and in full.

The Standard

Prepare every return as if it were your own, treat every client as if they were your only one, and never let the network's name stand behind work you would not sign twice.
